Not only is this personal for the leadership of the company but it is extremely important for recruitment and retention in the highly competitive race for talent in the technology field. It is more than a corporate policy – it is enshrined prominently in the individual Employment Agreements that we all sign. We try to be as “colour-blind” as possible in our recruiting process, and to do this we do not accept pictures with any application nor do we ask for any demographic information. We use online recruiting tools, which allow for a high level of anonymity. Having said this though, we are focused on outreach to post-secondary students, female drone hobbyists and indigenous communities in the Edmonton and Fort McMurray areas.
